the conversation we just had

me: "Do you know what emphysema is? Wait. Let me look up the German word.
...
Okay, "Emphysem." Basically the same word."

Toffi: "Yeah, I think I've heard it before."

me: "It's basically an illness that smokers get a lot. Usually when they're older. Apparently, Amy Winehouse has it already."

Toffi: "You read that kind of news, too?"

me, smiling sheepishly: "Yeah."

Toffi: "Her father said it, didn't he?"

me: "Yeah."

Toffi: "Oh god, I can't believe we're having this conversation. I'm going to go make dinner."

soooo tired

So we're back. We spent a lovely week in The Hague, visiting my cousin, and then we attended a wedding in Hamburg. I would write more and tell y'all about it, but we're all pretty tired over here. Marie got a tooth, started walking, turned one and got her first, real fever all in only 3 days time. So I'll be back and writing as soon as we've rested up a bit.
